About the campaign

The BeSafe:WeSafe campaign, spearheaded by the Department of Computer Science at Rajagiri College of Management & Applied Sciences in collaboration with the District Administration Ernakulam, is an ambitious initiative under the National Cyber Security Month Celebration. The campaign is designed to educate and raise awareness about digital hygiene and cybersecurity across various segments of society, specifically targeting 5,000  students and members of the general public, including Kudumbasree members, local panchayat bodies, and other community representatives.

Involving the younger generation into the growing digital age, we should prepare them to ensure safe usage and proper commitment to the digital space created. Rajagiri college of management and applied sciences understand the importance and requirement of learning digital hygiene. And the district administration has taken a great understanding into factors regarding the community and digital safety and protection, as has become one of the most important issues faced by the society nowadays. By bringing awareness to the community we can ensure the safety of data and information. This campaign is based on the factors regarding, the safeguarding and proper protection of personal identity on any digital platform. The main objective of the initiative is to bring awareness among the community about the same. Therefore we have taken an initiative to come forth and enhance the information shared among the community, about digital crimes and protection of personal data.

The campaign’s primary goal is to equip participants with essential knowledge and tools to stay safe in an increasingly digital world. Through a series of interactive programs, workshops, quizzes, and creative competitions, the campaign emphasizes the importance of secure online practices, responsible digital behavior, and the need to protect personal and professional information.

By focusing on both educational institutions and the general public, the BeSafe:WeSafe campaign seeks to build a digitally aware and secure community, fostering a culture of cybersecurity that can have a lasting impact on local society.Cybersecurity awareness is crucial in today's digital age, where threats such as phishing, malware, and data breaches are prevalent. It involves educating individuals and organizations about best practices for protecting sensitive information, recognizing potential threats, and implementing security measures. Key components include strong password management, safe internet browsing habits, regular software updates, and understanding the importance of data privacy. By fostering a culture of cybersecurity awareness, we can reduce risks and enhance overall security for everyone.
